Birdwatching with Alan and Ruth

Fancy a one-day birdwatching trip? Or maybe you'd like a longer multi-day birding tour or holiday? We have been watching birds and sharing them with others for many years so we know just what it takes to make the perfect birdwatching experience.

First of all, we know where the birds are! We've written birdwatching site guides and explored much of the world with our binoculars, so we know the right places to see the birds. But we know it's just as important for you to enjoy yourself too. So we only take very small groups up to six guests, and always spend time enjoying all the birds we encounter. Whether you are just beginning your birdwatching adventures or have been watching birds for years, all you need is enthusiasm. We take care of the rest.

Our tours include exciting birds in beautiful places and plenty of cosy cafes too. And we arrange delicious meals and comfy accommodation on our longer birdwatching trips.

We offer set departure daytrips in North Wales where we are based, and longer tours in North Wales, elsewhere in Britain, in Europe, and further afield too. Take a look at our Daytrips and Tours pages to see where we could take you next.

Can't see what you're looking for? Simply email us on info@birdwatchingtrips.co.uk and we can put together a custom-made daytrip or tour just for you.

What makes us different?

We have two guides on most of our UK tours, so a maximum three-to-one guest-to-guide ratio, and three guides on most of our overseas tours so an even better guest-to-guide ratio of two-to-one. Very few companies can offer this amazing level of customer service and attention to detail. It means we can do our utmost to ensure each and every guest has the very best experience, and just as importantly, it gives us the flexibility to really take care of you in the unlikely event of illness or accident. We have the personnel to look after you, while ensuring the rest of the group continues to enjoy their birdwatching.

We are compliant with the Package Travel Regulations 2018 and use specialist lawyers to the travel industry to ensure this is the case. We have Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance to protect both you and your money. We only recommend bonded airlines to book your flights with, again ensuring you are protected. If you are comparing Birdwatching Trips to other bird tour companies, please check the guest-to-guide ratios on their tours and if they have the correct legal protection in place. Many do not, putting you and your money at risk in these uncertain times.

Another aspect of our tours that sets us apart from other tour companies is that we always provide our guests with good quality accommodation and enjoy great food on all our tours! You will stay in lovely places wherever possible, and enjoy delicious and regular meals. Not for our clients the experience of sitting in a steamed-up minibus while you eat supermarket sandwich and call it lunch! We never forget that you are not just on a Birdwatching Trip, you're on holiday too, and we know that lovely accommodation and delicious food are an important part of the whole experience. Of course, we know that by making sure that you're well-rested and well-fed throughout the tour, you can really enjoy all the birds when you see them.

We also have a vast experience of birds, birdwatching, guiding and travel behind us. As two world record-breaking birders, there are very few people who can come close to the amount of bird-related travel that we have been lucky enough to enjoy. All this experience comes in to play when we plan our tours and ensure that our tours run smoothly wherever we may be in the world. Over many years we have built up an enormous number of trusted friends and contacts all over the globe that we know we can rely on to help us in all sorts of ways should the need arise. When you're travelling with Birdwatching Trips, you are engaging with a whole community of bird-loving amazing people all around the world!
